![]() Unfortunately the timers have to be in seconds, so if you wanted a 30 minute timer, you’d have to put in 1800 seconds. They run on your Home hubs, not your personal device(s). HomeKit shortcuts don’t need confirmation on another device to run. That’s really all there should need to be to it. On the scene/accessory selection screen scroll all the way to the bottom and select “Convert to Shortcut”, then put in the following: That way it only runs when one person arrives and doesn’t reset and start over when the second person arrives. If there are multiple people that should trigger this I would use “the first person arrives” and then select the specific people you want to trigger this. Use when someone arrives, time of day could be optional but maybe you want to get specific. You could just create a scene called “Home” or “Arrived” or whatever that enables/disables the things you want and then create this automation in the Home app: I guess I could make another dummy switch and maybe put a timer on that accessory. I feel like there's got to be an obvious/easy way to put a timer on this. I do use Controller on my iPhone/iPad for more advanced automations, and I could probably hack together a complicated if/then, but I've got a few of those and they're beasts to maintain. Without this, the Scene and its accessories stay on indefinitely and I often forget to disable the dummy switch which means when we leave the next time, everything stays on. It also turns on my hot-water recirculator and flips a dummy switch called "Guest Mode" (HomeBridge) which is present to prevent geofencing (like when we have guests and we leave, it doesn't throw the house into away mode).Īnyways, I'm struggling to figure out an "easy" way to make "Coming Home" turn off after some amount of hours and/or at some time (like midnight). "Coming Home", disables Away state (effectively cooling/heating the home to desired level). My house is geofenced and effectively detects when I leave via Apple's Presence features and puts my Thermostats (Daikin One+) into Away mode. This is something I'll typically launch via CarPlay in my car via Siri. Here's the scenario, I created a Scene called "Coming Home".
